Michelle Phan has made tremendous strides in turning her YouTube videos to blogs on her own YouTube Channel and now into a triving business with over 1.7 million followers.

From this plateau she she launched her own product line Ipsy in San Mateo, California, with Marcelo Camberos in 2011. Ipsy partners with a variety of makeup brands to deliver a $10 monthly Glam Bag. It includes samples that fit into an overall theme (May’s, for instance, is “jetsetter”).

Phan aims to introduce smaller brands to a larger audience (some major brands are also featured). With one million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada — triple the number of subscribers it had last year — Ipsy plans to expand into Asia soon.
